A tale of 2 Kharn's (2nd attempt at a Kharn conversion)

The original Kharn model was a mini that helped solidify my love of the World Eaters. Though I have always liked the model I often felt like it lacked a certain sense of movement and as new plastic models started getting released for chaos his proportions started to seem 'off.' I had toyed around with a few different ideas, including a WIP that I posted not too long ago. Then Forge World released Kharn the Bloody, the 30k version of my 40k favorite. It had all the size and movement I could want. So I decided to fuse the two and add a few other bits for good measure. Luckily, despite all the naysaying, the 40k version was released in Finecast. So much easier to cut up. Anyway, here is my WIP so far;

Just cannot stay away from the World Eaters

I know, it is not an Emperor's Children Lord... Just got some bits in the mail for this project I started a while back but didnt know where to go. Some of the new plastic kits gave me inspiration. I was inspired by the artwork of Adrian Smith. I also wanted to give this Terminator Lord a slightly different look. I went for an armor look that kind of resembled Bloodletters. Anyways, here are the tacked together bits, they still need cleaned and detailed since this is still highly WIP'd.

Going to replace the Dark Angels Halberd with this Chaos Halberd.

Here he is put together with his basic bits, I need to Green Stuff him and do some more detailing before I feel that he is ready for paint, oh, and clean some stupid mold lines.

Some stuff

So, as promised. Here is some stuff. First, I believe that I am going to complete the Emperor's Children Lord that I last posted in May of 2011, sounds like completion and BLOG WAR! to me. Now, I am changing it up somewhat. Using one of the Palatine Blade heads and throwing one of the Hellstrider Crests on top to give it more of a CSM look. HMMM, It has been a long time...

...since I have posted.

I moved to Austin a couple of years back and left my gaming/hobby support group behind.  Oddly enough, I am friends with a guy that hangs with the BoLS folks, but I have still not felt particularly inspired without my co-pilot over at;   http://pickadamnarmy.blogspot.com/

He and I have been keeping in regular touch and it seems that he is suffering from a similar discontent, so, we are starting a BlogWar.

There are a lot of half started projects gaining dust.  Expect to see some updates soon...

Emperor's Children Lord WIP

Here is a WIP of an EC's Lord. I wanted to go with something elegant yet sinister. i am most pleased with the backpack. This has been constructed using 29 bits from 9 different kits; Sanquinary Guard, Chaos Space Marines, Dark Angels Upgrade Sprue, Dark Eldar Raider, Dark Eldar Kabalite Warriors, Demonettes, Seekers of Slannesh, Vampire Counts Grave Guards and Chaos Warriors Champion of Slannesh on Demonic Mount.

Dark Apostle WIP w/paint, almost done.

i am not happy with the base, i need to fix that and do a little bit more detailing.
